privacy policy

1. who we are

this policy explains what information nomp ("we", "us", "the app") collects, why, and what you can do about it. it applies to the nomp app on iOS and Android and to nomp.io.

nomp is provided by Wise Eyes, a Swiss sole trader. questions: support@nomp.ch.

2. the short version

• we collect what nomp needs to work: your account, your commits and results, and the people you connect with.
• your screen use is measured on your phone and never leaves it. only the result of a commit (succeeded or failed) is saved to your account.
• no ads, no analytics or tracking tools, and we never sell your data.
• you can delete your account and all of its data at any time, in the app or by email.

3. what we collect

your account

• email address, and a password if you sign up with email. passwords are handled by our sign-in provider (Firebase Authentication); we never see them.
• if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email address that provider shares with us.
• a display name, shown to the people you connect with.

your profile (optional)

• a profile photo, if you add one.
• your aim statement.

your commits

• what you set up: the commit's name, type (solo, buddy, nudge, together), theme, intent, reward, start and end time, and grace period.
• the result: whether you made it or not.

your connections

• the people you connect with, the invites and invite codes you create or accept, the commits you share with them, and the reactions you send each other.
• if you joined through an invite link (for example nomp.io/join/…), the code of that link, so we know which group or pilot you joined from.

notifications

• a push notification token for your device, and your notification preferences.

crash reports

• if the app crashes or hits an error, we receive a technical report: device model, operating system version, app version, and what went wrong in the code. crash reports do not include your name or email address.

4. what stays on your phone

to know whether a commit succeeds, nomp measures how long your phone is unlocked and in use during the commit window, and only during that window.

• on iPhone this uses Apple's Screen Time framework. nomp is told only when your screen time passes the limit you set; it never learns which apps you used.
• on Android this uses the Usage Access permission to measure total screen-on time inside the window. nomp does not record which apps you use or what you do in them.

these measurements never leave your phone. only the result of the commit (succeeded or failed) is saved to your account and shared with the people involved in that commit.

we don't collect your contacts, calendar, location, messages, browsing history, or the apps you use.

5. how we use it

• to run your account and sign you in.
• to make commits work: schedule them, work out the result, and show your history and stats.
• to let you connect with people and share commits, reactions and results with them.
• to send notifications you've allowed (commit reminders, results, invites, partner updates).
• to find and fix crashes.
• to answer you when you contact us.

we don't use your data for advertising, we don't build marketing profiles, and we don't sell or rent your data.

6. who else is involved

we use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf and only for running nomp:

• Google Firebase (Google LLC): sign-in, database, photo storage, push notifications and server functions. see policies.google.com/privacy.
• Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.): crash reporting, stored in the EU. see sentry.io/privacy.
• Apple and Google, only if you choose to sign in with them.

people you connect with in nomp can see your display name, profile photo, and the commits and results you share with them.

some of these providers may process data outside Switzerland and the EU. where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under Swiss and EU data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses.

7. how long we keep it

• your account data is kept while your account exists.
• when you delete your account, it is deleted immediately and permanently: your profile and photo, commit history, connections and invites, and the shared commits you took part in.
• if you ask us by email to delete your account, we do it within 30 days and confirm by email.
• crash reports are kept by Sentry for up to 30 days.

8. your rights

under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where it applies, the EU GDPR, you can:

• access the data we hold about you,
• correct it,
• delete it (see section 9),
• get a copy of it,
• object to or restrict how we use it.

we process your data because it's needed to provide nomp to you (our agreement with you), because you've asked for something (for example notifications or a profile photo), or for our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and secure (for example crash reports).

to use any of these rights, email support@nomp.ch. you can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or to the data protection authority where you live.

9. deleting your account

in the app: settings → danger zone → delete account.

without the app: email support@nomp.ch from the address you signed up with, subject "delete my account".

10. security

data is encrypted in transit, and access to your data is restricted to your own account and to the people you share commits with. no system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and fix problems quickly.

11. age

nomp is intended for people aged 13 and over. if we learn that we hold data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it.

12. changes

if we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and for important changes we'll let you know in the app.
